Petroleum Donated IPM Suite to the British University in Yemen
Petroleum
Experts based in Edinburgh, Scotland-U.K and Houston, USA,
awarded
£ 1,735,709.95 (UK Sterling) worth
of educational software plus Maintenance fee to the British University’s- Petroleum Engineering Department. Petroleum
Experts Ltd. has granted 10 licenses of the IPM software suite. This Software
is the main tool used by British Petroleum (BP), Shell, Exxon Mobil,
Conoco Phillips and many other leading petroleum companies to locate and
efficiently produce petroleum resources.
Thank
you to our prestigious Sponsor Petroleum Expert Ltd.
Thanks to
a donation from Petroleum Experts Ltd., a leading provider of technology and
information systems for the oil and gas industries, The British university in
Yemen –Petroleum Engineering students and faculty have free access to
multi-million-pound simulation software that can help researchers better
analyze oil reservoirs, figure out where they might be located and to enhance
the production using Integrated Multiple production Model.
List of Software produced by
Petroleum Experts Ltd.
RESOLVE takes integration to move a step further. It allows the engineer to
connect, run, control and optimise multi-vendor engineering models. Through RESOLVE's
open and flexible architecture the dynamic links between proprietary software
models as well as multi-vendor commercial software models tools is now
practical. RESOLVE is the corporate standard with international
majors.
GAP – is a multiphase optimiser of the surface network which
links with PROSPER and MBAL to model entire reservoir and
productions systems. GAP can model production systems containing oil,
gas and condensate, in addition to gas or water injection systems.
PROSPER is
a well performance, design and optimisation program which is part of the
Integrated Production Modelling Toolkit (IPM). This tool is the
industry standard well modelling with the major operators worldwide.
The MBAL
package contains the classical reservoir engineering tool, using analytical
techniques to analyse the fluid dynamics in the reservoir. MBAL
has redefined the use of Material Balance in modern reservoir engineering. MBAL
has many innovations developed by Petroleum Experts that are not available
elsewhere.
PVTP is a tool for the production or
reservoir engineer to use to predict the effect of process conditions on the
composition of hydrocarbon mixtures with accuracy and speed. The compositional
behavior of complex mixtures including gas mixtures, gas condensates,
retrograde condensates, volatile oils and black oils can be interpreted and
predicted with confidence.
REVEAL is a
specialised reservoir simulator modeling near well bore effects including
mobility and injectivity issues. Thermal and chemical effects are modeled
rigorously. These effects can arise from injection of non-reservoir fluids at
non-reservoir temperatures.
Integrating
the tools of GAP, PROSPER, MBAL, REVEAL and PVTP to operate seamlessly, the
engineer is able to design complex field models.
The
Reservoir, Wells and Complete Surface Systems model, having been matched for
production history, will accurately optimize the entire network and run
predictions.
